The Chevrolet Corvette C3 (1968–1982) is the third generation of America's iconic sports car, featuring dramatic Coke-bottle styling inspired by the Mako Shark II concept. By 1977, the C3 was in its later emissions-choked phase, producing modest output from its 5.7L (350 cu in) V8, typically around 180–210 hp depending on specification, as smog regulations had substantially reduced power compared to the fire-breathing early C3s. Despite this, the C3 remained a beloved American icon, offering a distinctive long-hood, T-top roof (standard by the mid-70s), and unmistakable presence.
