The Volkswagen Type 2 (T1) Microbus, produced from 1950 to 1967, is one of the most iconic vehicles ever built. Powered by an air-cooled rear-mounted flat-four engine producing around 30–40 hp depending on year, it became a global symbol of the counterculture movement of the 1960s. Originally designed as a practical commercial van based on the Beetle platform, the Microbus (Kombi/Bus) variant became beloved for its spacious interior, distinctive split windshield, and charming utilitarian design.
