1968 · 🇺🇸 USA · 335 hp
The Plymouth Road Runner was a budget-oriented muscle car built on Chrysler's B-body platform, introduced in 1968. Named after the Warner Bros. cartoon character, it was designed to offer maximum performance at a lower price point than competitors. The base engine was a 383 cu in (6.3L) V8 producing 335 hp, with the legendary 426 Hemi and 440 Six Pack available as options. The 1971 model year saw redesigned sheetmetal with a more formal roofline and added creature comforts, though compression ratios were lowered to run on regular unleaded fuel, reducing peak power. The Road Runner became an iconic symbol of the late 1960s–early 1970s muscle car era, beloved for its no-frills, go-fast ethos and distinctive 'beep-beep' horn.
