The Audi 80 (B4) Cabriolet was introduced in 1991 and continued production until 1999, outliving the B4 saloon it was based on. Built on the B4 platform but retaining the B3 bodyshell structure reinforced for open-top driving, it featured a classic fabric soft-top and was offered with a range of four- and six-cylinder engines. The base 2.0-litre four-cylinder produced around 115 hp, while the range-topping 2.8 V6 offered 174 hp. With its elegant proportions, quality interior, and all-weather usability, it became a well-regarded everyday convertible in the European market. Around 70,000 units were produced over its long life, making well-preserved examples increasingly sought after today.
