The 1950 Chrysler New Yorker was the flagship of the Chrysler lineup, riding on the long-wheelbase C-49 platform. Powered by a 331 cubic inch (5.4L) FirePower Hemi V8 from 1951 onward — the 1950 model used the earlier 323.5 CID straight-eight producing around 135 hp. It was a large, luxurious American full-size car aimed squarely at Cadillac and Lincoln buyers. Known for its upright, formal styling with sweeping pontoon fenders and chrome-laden bodywork typical of the early postwar era.
