About this car
Iran Khodro's first fully domestically developed sedan, the Samand LX launched in 2002 using a 1.8-litre Peugeot-derived XU7 engine producing around 90 hp. Designed to replace the aging Paykan, it became Iran's best-selling family car and a symbol of domestic automotive ambition.
