About this car

The Jaguar XJ (X308) is the third generation of the XJ40-derived platform, produced from 1997 to 2003. It replaced the X300 and introduced Ford-era AJ-V8 engines — a significant step forward in reliability and refinement. Available in 3.2 and 4.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 guises, as well as the supercharged XJR with around 370 hp, the X308 retained the classic long-bonnet, upright-grille Jaguar styling that had defined the nameplate since the XJ6. Despite early teething issues with the Nippondenso engine management system, the X308 is considered by many enthusiasts as the last of the 'proper' old-school Jaguar saloons before the aluminium-intensive X350 arrived. The base 3.2 V8 produces approximately 240 hp, while the 4.0 V8 delivers around 290 hp.
