About this car
Launched in 1970 at the AvtoVAZ plant in Togliatti, the Lada 2101 was a licensed derivative of the Fiat 124, adapted for Soviet roads with a redesigned rear axle and uprated suspension. Its 1.2-litre OHC engine produced 64 hp, making it the USSR's most popular family car.
