About this car

The Lotus Elan +2 (also known as the Elan Plus 2) was a 2+2 grand tourer version of the Elan, introduced in 1967 to provide more practicality for buyers wanting occasional rear seating. Built on a stretched backbone chassis with a fiberglass body, it was powered by a twin-cam 1558cc Ford-based engine producing around 118 hp in the +2S 130 variant. Longer and wider than the standard Elan, it retained the superb handling and lightweight ethos Colin Chapman was famous for. Production ran until 1974, with around 5,200 units built. The +2S 130/5 variant introduced a 5-speed gearbox. Today it is a beloved British classic, valued for its driving dynamics and elegant fastback styling.
