Ford's attempt to sell upmarket European luxury in the US under the Merkur sub-brand. The Scorpio Mk1 was a Ford Scorpio Mk1 (Sierra/Cortina platform) with a 2.9L Cologne V6, sold only from 1988–89 before poor sales killed the brand entirely.
