About this car
France's first post-war mass-market car, the 4CV used a rear-mounted 760cc four-cylinder engine producing around 21 hp. Nicknamed 'la motte de beurre' (butter pat) for its rounded shape, it became Renault's first million-seller and symbolised France's postwar economic recovery.
