Spot of the Week: Porsche 911 (992) Carrera GTS Cabriolet

Open-top 911s divide people. The GTS Cabriolet is the one that ends the argument.

This week's spot is a white Porsche 911 (992) Carrera GTS Cabriolet, caught by @susantidad_93 on a summer street in León, Spain — a city that is not exactly known as supercar territory.

The sweet spot of the range

GTS has always meant the same thing at Porsche: take the Carrera S, add everything the options list would have charged you for, then sharpen it. Here that means 473 hp from the 3.0-litre twin-turbo flat-six — 30 hp up on the S, unlocked with the larger turbochargers lifted straight from the 911 Turbo — plus 570 Nm on tap from just 2,300 rpm.

Then the chassis: PASM Sport suspension sitting 10 mm lower, rear helper springs, Turbo-grade brakes, the GTS sports exhaust, and noticeably less sound insulation. On a Cabriolet, that last part is the whole point. Drop the roof and the flat-six stops being background noise.

And you could still order it with a 7-speed manual — a shorter throw than the standard car, and nearly a second slower to 100 km/h on paper. People bought it anyway. They were right.

The numbers

Why it's worth logging

The 992.1 GTS was the last of its kind. From 2025 the badge moved to the T-Hybrid 3.6 — a genuinely brilliant car, but a different one. This is the final purely combustion GTS Cabriolet, and the market has already noticed.

EPIC tier, +100 XP, and only the fifth one of its kind logged on Carva so far. It took the week with 19 likes.
